These Two ...

Love one another and you will be happy. It's as simple and as difficult as that. ~Michael Leunig

I've had the pleasure of knowing this young couple for a number of years. And to see them together truly warms my heart.

The last time we did a little photo shoot like this, they were both mere teens. And now, as I watch them strolling hand in hand, it dawns on me how much they have grown and changed - both individually and as a couple.

When I see them together like this, I cannot help but think back to my own youth and meeting my better half. And I hope that their future together is every bit as wonderful.

K & D: I wish you guys much peace and love in this season of your lives. May today be brighter knowing you face each day together.

Meet Muttley

His name isn't "Muttley" but that will do for the purpose of these posts. This is my youngest baby. At 8 months old and a whopping 60 lbs, he's destined to be my biggest baby as well!

I think he's a handsome little mutt ... even if he has more energy than the rest of the family combined (times 10). He's the one member of my family that I can regularly get to sit still for a photo or two (and all it costs me is a puppy treat or maybe just a toss of the ball). He wiggles and waggles and cocks his head to one side or the other. He tries (successfully) to look so cute that I won't remember the last thing from around the house that he has destroyed.

I'm a proud puppy mom though. And that's why I wanted to share his smug little mug with you here.

Be sure to check out some other cuddly mugs in our Pets Gallery!

Celebrating Success

This is a very special preview post for me. It features a young woman I greatly admire. She stands on the cusp of a new chapter in her life as she finishes up a well earned master's degree. I am so proud of how far she has come and how far she is going to go. But mostly, I am just proud to be able to call her my friend.

Check out these photos and celebrate her success with me!

Congrats Sunshine!

In the Eye of the Beholder

This past weekend I got a chance to step out of my comfort zone a bit while my family and I went on a little road trip.

For those who don't know, a "road trip" in Texas could land you in one of its sprawling big cities (think Houston or Dallas) or find you on a dusty old country road with no one around for miles and miles.

This particular adventure took us mostly over those back country roads with only cows, crops and bluebonnets to keep us company. But in the end, we landed near a major Interstate highway in a reasonably sized city for an antique car swap meet.

And while the swap meet experience wasn't exactly what we were expecting, we still had a great time and got to enjoy some rather savagely aged automotive beauties, including these rusted relics:

Since I'm not in the business of restoring these rusting wonders, I can just enjoy them for the simple lines, the ample leg room, and the sense of history they convey.

All in all, it was a fun day out with my guys and I can't wait until the next one!

Play Ball!

Just like the roadsides filled with wild flowers, another sure sign of spring is the sight of soccer fields, baseball diamonds, and every neighborhood park filling up with families!

My guys and I are rather partial to the soccer field and spend as much time as possible playing, practicing, and cheering on our favorite teams.

Regardless of whether you favor soccer, baseball or softball, golf, martial arts, tennis, or rugby (or any other sport of your choice), we invite you to check out our Sports & Activities gallery.

We believe ALL of your accomplishments, both on and off the field of play, should be celebrated. And we hope you will let us celebrate with you!

Senior Season

Today is the first day of spring and you can just feel it in the air!

The signs of spring are everywhere - from the regal blue blooms of our beloved state flower to the open windows and gentle breezes of the first warm days of the calendar year. And I, for one, am ready to wave good-bye to freezing temperatures and bulky sweaters.

Yet another sign of spring is the building anticipation of graduation come May and June!

If you are a senior ready for your walk across that stage, or even if you are a junior thinking ahead to your time next fall and spring, take a minute to browse our Senior Gallery.

I hope you will consider us for your graduation photo and announcement needs!
